HIL Fundamentals

HIL Fundamentals is the first course in the HIL Specialist 2.0 specialization program authored by Typhoon HIL engineers. This course series is designed to raise your skill and knowledge of the Typhoon HIL toolchain so that you can confidently and successfully execute your own hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) projects.

No matter what engineering domain you come from, the first step towards adopting hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) techniques is to understand the basics of the hardware and software you use. Join us as we explore the computing architecture of Typhoon HIL real-time simulators, and how you can interface your device under test. Then we go hands on, going step-by-step through using Typhoon HIL software tools to operate and automate your HIL testbed. Finally, we take an advanced look at the fundamentals behind everyday challenges and problems that you might encounter with real-time modeling and simulation. Learn how to troubleshoot and overcome them like a pro!

Basic to start using HIL for converter application

I managed to get a converter running with controller in the loop after attending this course. It provides useful tips for me to use IT core coupling, Core marker, CPU marker etc to resolve overload issues.

Outline of Steps

I really liked being able to watch videos on how the system is to be used. However, I did not like that many of the steps or instructions were done very quickly or mistakenly and then fixed during a following step. In order to make this better, I think it would be really nice to have a step-by-step tutorial (or outline) for one to go through while comparing our work to the video.
