Target Audience: Engineers, researchers, and students in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, and power systems who seek a deeper understanding of digital control principles in power electronics applications. This course is also suitable for those interested in leveraging HIL techniques for real-time simulation and testing.

Prerequisites: A basic understanding of control theory, electronics, and power electronics is recommended.

Meet course instructors

Born in Santa Maria, RS, Brazil. He received the B.S., M.S. and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Brazil, in 2009, 2011 and 2014, respectively. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, UFSC. His research interests are focus on real-time simulation, dual active bridge converters, and power electronics for green hydrogen. André Luís Kirsten André Luís Kirsten Born in Florianopolis, SC, Brazil. He received the B.S., M.S. and PhD degrees from Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianopolis, Brazil, in 2006, 2008 and 2013, respectively. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at UFSC. His research interests are focus on modeling and control of power converters, grid-connected inverters, and power electronics for green hydrogen. Roberto Francisco Coelho Roberto Francisco Coelho Born in Lages, SC, Brazil. Thiago received the B.S., and M.E. degrees from Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianopolis, Brazil, in 2018 and 2021 respectively. Is currenty pursuing a PhD degree in power electronics at UFSC. His research interests are optimization, modeling, digital control and HIL simulation of power converters.
